Survival of the fittest or natural selection
Determines what variations survive. Variations better structured to survive prevail while less able species become extinct
Divergence of character provides the best chance for survival. Inter breeding causes less divergence and thus a higher chance of extinction. As groups become smaller, inter breeding increases and thus pushes that group closer to extinction.
Groups that are similar are most likely to compete against each other as they tend to compete for the same resources
Large variations tend to pull resources from adjoining parts
Things that vary tend to vary more than things that haven’t varied
Larger countries will tend to yield higher perfection of individuals as the competition and diversity will be higher and more severe
“Natura non facit saltum” – “nature does not make jumps”
Multiply, vary, let the strongest live and weakest die
